The First Indo-US Bilateral Workshop on Nanotechnology for Clean Energy Generation and Storage International organized by PSG Institute of Advanced Studies and Dr. Pradeep Haldar (Colleges of Nanoscale Science & Engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute) was held on January 10th to 12th, 2018 at the Conventional Hall, PSG Institute of Management in Coimbatore, India.

The workshop was presided by:

  • R.Rudramoorthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology 

  • Rajiv K. Tayal, executive director, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, and

  • Pradeep Haldar, CNSE professor of nano economics and nano engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, who was the guest of honor.

The veledectory function was presided by Chief Guest:

  • Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Secretary, Science & Engineering Research Board, India and Head Science & Engineering Research Division, Department of Science & Technology, India

The objectives of this conference were to bring together researchers from the US and India to present advancements achieved by materials scientists in these diverse fields and to provide opportunities for networking and scientific collaborations. The meetings included US participation by scientists from:

  • SUNY Polytechnic Institute,

  • Argonne National Laboratory,

  • University of Toledo,

  • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute,

  • University of Connecticut and the

  • US Army International Technology Center.

 

It also included Indian participants from the

  • Indian Institute of Technology, Madras;

  • Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay;

  • Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata;

  • National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore;

  • Institute of Nanoscience and Technology Habitat Centre, Mohali and

  • The Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi.

 

Speakers from industry included:

  • Mundra Solar PV Ltd and 

  • The Center for Solar Energy Materials International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials.
